Scott founded Fabric Utilization Ltd in 2012 after recognising a major imbalance in how apparel manufacturers pursued savings. While improvement programmes concentrated on labour efficiency, standard minute values and increasing capacity, fabric typically 60–70% of garment cost received far less attention. Scott realised that even a small improvement in fabric utilization could deliver a greater financial return than marginal production gains. That insight remains the foundation of the business: recovering hidden fabric losses and converting better cutting-room control directly into profit.
